Meet Boushra, a Ph.D. candidate from Lebanon who came to OU for something more. Boushra found a sense of community within the Stephenson Biomedical Engineering Department. Her determination, hard work, and departmental support have allowed Boushra to research regenerative knee cartilage and raise her son.

Sogol Salary and Her Graduate Student Experience at OU
Born and raised in Iran, Salary studied in her home country, where she earned her license to practice architecture. At age 28, however, everything changed. Sogol began to feel a fervent desire to improve her life, study English, and relocate to the United States for a doctoral program.
