Graduation - Masters Degree


Application for Graduation

The Application for Graduation form (a small 6x4.5" blue card)
, can be found in the Graduate College or in your department. 


Graduation Clearance

All students who have filed a graduation application will be reviewed for "possible" graduation clearance. Students will be notified if there are any problems that will delay their graduation. If the student had planned to graduate that semester, the student should contact the Graduate College regarding the delay.


Graduation Requirements

  • Successful completion of all coursework listed on the student’s Admission to Candidacy form.
  • GPA must be 3.00 or higher
  • Satisfactory results on Comprehensive Examination
  • Graduation application and fee are valid
  • All tuition and fees must be paid


Completion of the Degree

The degree is completed when all requirements are fully met, all grades are posted, all tuition and fees are paid to the University, and the Graduate College has recommended the student's graduation to the Office of Records.


Request for Letter of Completion

After satisfactory completion of all degree requirements, a student may request an official Letter of Completion.  Letters of Completion are issued by the Office of Records, by request from the Graduate College.

Requests for Letter of Completion must be made by written request bearing the signature of the student, and may be submitted via post, fax, or e-mail.


Transcripts & Diplomas

Transcripts & Diplomas are issued by the Office of Academic Records.

Diplomas are mailed from the Office of Records three to four months after the semester of graduation.
