Award Process

  1. The academic unit in which the graduate student is employed must complete the Qualified Graduate Assistant Tuition Waiver Request.
  2. Whenever possible, we recommend making fall, spring, and summer awards. If necessary, an award can be cancelled at a later date.
  3. The Graduate College will award the tuition waiver.
  4. The Graduate College will notify the student (via e-mail) of the award decision. The email is sent to the student's OU email account.
  5. The award letter will contain the following information:
    • The type of waiver
    • The amount of the award
    • The semester to which the award is applicable
    • General information concerning course costs which may and may not be waived
