Graduate Enrollment Management (GrEM) Project
Purpose

The Graduate Enrollment Management Pilot Project includes three phases, collaborating with graduate programs to effectively manage graduate student enrollment such that we recruit a number of nationally competitive graduate students, provide them with a quality graduate experience, graduate them in a timely fashion, and help them locate jobs consistent with their career goals.

Phases & Objectives

Phase 1: GET ’EM IN
     Recruiting: recruit nationally competitive graduate students

  • Establish graduate program goals
  • Develop innovative and proactive recruiting practices and evaluate effectiveness
  • Identify prospective graduate students who meet or exceed the admissibility standards of each graduate program and foster their enrollment
  • Nourish communication and cultivate relationship between Grad College and graduate departments
  • Increase graduate faculty and graduate student participation in proactive recruitment endeavors

Phase 2: KEEP ‘EM IN
     Retention: provide quality graduate experiences and training

  • Support graduate students, faculty & staff for timely completion of graduate student milestones
  • Enhance graduate student productivity in research, publications, and presentations
  • Increase the number of satisfied graduate students, faculty, and staff
  • Reinforce a strong sense of community of students & faculty
  • Promote programs and events sponsored by Graduate College and graduate department

Phase 3: GET ‘EM DONE
     Graduation: assist students to timely degree completion and job placement consistent with career goals

  • Increase the number of total graduate degrees conferred
  • Increase the number of graduates who are assisted by OU to locate jobs consistent with career goals
  • Strengthen partnerships with alumni and community leaders to encourage their involvement and assistance with graduate programs and the development of GrEM objectives
  • Provide annual progress reports to constituents
