After the Graduate College forwards the application and admission decision to the Office of Admissions, the Office of admissions notifies the prospective student of his/her admission status.
Full
Admission
Must have at least a 3.00 GPA through the semester containing
the last sixty hours of letter graded coursework. -OR- a
3.00 GPA on at least twelve hours of graduate level coursework
earned from a regionally accredited institution. Must be
recommended for admission by department and be approved by
the Graduate Dean.
Conditional
Low Grade Admission
Must have at least a 2.75-2.99 GPA through the semester
containing the last sixty hours of letter graded coursework.
Must be recommended for admission by the department and
approval from the Graduate Dean. Must earn a "B" or
better in the first twelve hours of letter graded coursework.
Provisionally
Deferred Admission
Must have 2.50-2.74 GPA over the last sixty hours of
letter graded coursework. Must complete the first six
hours of graduate letter graded coursework with a GPA
of at least a 3.50. None of these six credit hours may
be applied toward the student's degree, with the following
exception: CORE courses
taken will count
toward course requirements, but cannot count toward
credit hour requirements. Credit for CDR's may be applied.

APPLICANTS IN THIS GPA RANGE.)
Alternate
Admission
The departments listed below make this option available
for students who do not meet the full or conditional
admission requirements.
Prospective Students should contact the academic department of interest for more specific information about their Alternate Admission criteria.
Visitor Status
Requires a completed admission application form with application
fee. The student must have a letter of good standing
from the graduate dean of the student's current university
and bear the seal of the university currently being attended. -OR- An
e-mail from the graduate dean of the student's university
to the field representative may be used in lieu of a
hard copy, provided the Graduate Dean of the University of Oklahoma
is copied on the original e-mail.
