Valuable academic pursuits may involve areas of educational preparation and research that transcend a single field. The interdisciplinary Master's is an individualized degree program available to students whose educational goals cannot be met by one of the existing doctoral degree programs at the University of Oklahoma. The student may propose an interdisciplinary doctoral degree program to the Graduate College Dean and the Graduate Council. The various components of an interdisciplinary Master's degree program must be integrated so that the program presents a well-defined, coherent, and academically vigorous educational experience. The interdisciplinary program must encompass at least two disciplines. Authority for overseeing interdisciplinary doctoral degrees is vested with the Graduate Council.
