Applicability
- Each waiver is for a specific amount, a specific
term, and for either resident or non-resident tuition.
- Waivers are not transferable between semesters
nor between resident and non-resident tuition.
- Graduate College tuition waivers are awarded to Norman campus
graduate students taking Norman campus courses.
Costs Which May Be Waived
- Normally, tuition waivers may be applied to any course listed
in the Schedule of Courses as a Norman-campus course.
- Tuition waivers are applied only to tuition costs.
- They may not be applied towards fees; nor can they be converted
to cash.
Tulsa Campus
- Under special circumstances, tuition waivers awarded by the Norman-campus
Graduate College can be applied towards courses taken on the Tulsa
campus. Contact either the Tulsa or Norman campus Graduate College
for additional information.
Health Sciences Center Courses
- Under special circumstances, tuition waivers may be applied to
courses offered through the Health Science Center.
- Waivers for HSC courses must be approved
prior to enrollment.
- Contact the Graduate College for more information.
Costs Which May Not Be Waived
College of Continuing Education
- Graduate College tuition waivers may not be applied to courses
offered through the College of Continuing Education. This includes
Advanced Programs courses, intersession courses, Special Programs,
etc.
Law Courses
Graduate College tuition waivers may not be applied to courses
offered through the Law College.
Graduate Assistants Appointed to Grants
Effective December 31, 2008 the Qualified Graduate Assistant tuition waiver will only apply to existing awards, pending proposals, and to new proposals and subsequent awards that allow recovery of the tuition waiver (currently via the 15% charge on the GA stipend). Graduate Assistants appointed to grants that do not allow recovery of tuition waiver from the grant will NOT be eligible for the Qualified Graduate Assistant tuition waiver. For these grants, PI’s are urged to adjust the Graduate Assistant stipend to reflect the student’s need to pay tuition.
1.0 FTE Employees
- A student with a 1.0 FTE appointment must contact the Benefits
Office regarding a reduced tuition rate.
- These students are not eligible for a tuition waiver from the
Graduate College.
Audited Courses
Audited courses are not included in the student's enrollment calculation.
Thus, Graduate College tuition waivers do not apply to audited
courses.
